Even ghosts have feelings. Finding a song to represent Adrien' character was hard but I couldn't exclude him just because it was hard. Adrien Jandreau is not just a character in a ghost story, he's a character in The Eve's End too, but I can say no more about that without spoilers! How could I choose a song to describe the emotions and struggles of someone like Adrien? A teenager who encountered Nefas and had their life taken away from them by someone as dark as Nefas? I chose this song by one of my favorite bands, Red, called "Faceless" which you can hear a clip of in my IG Story. Even still, I had to rearrange the lyrics to get a decent fit for Adrien. RIP Adrien Jandreau.
It's been twenty-eight years since Fae Peeters stayed in the village which hosts the Gift. When she had first come the village it was not an overly friendly place. They had a dark secret they were hiding and any visitor threatened that secret. Now, twenty-eight years later a lot has changed. The villagers are no longer scared, they've opened themselves up, but the horrible secret of the Gift remains. It's concerning for Fae... and it should be concerning for the villagers too. Don't sleep easy beneath a volcano.
Let's chat because I need something settled. Yeah, yea, annnd I threw the "ya" in there because the rule of three is real, but this throws me all the time. What spelling do you use to show an excited exclamation in your everyday chat:, yeah, or yea? Is there a difference or is it just a regional thing?
I'm giving away a FREE copy my supernatural thriller "The Gift"! I've partnered up with a group of some other super talented authors to take part in the 📚Worthy Writers Instagram Book Giveaway! Participants have the chance to win ONE of FOUR book prize packs. Each pack has a different genre theme with three books each, and a mixture of digital and physical copies. (Canada and U.S. only)
"The Eve's End" opens with a ghost story about Adrien Jandreau, a teenager who very much lost in an unfortunate meeting with Nefas, darkness incarnate. As the ghost story ends we see that a busker had been telling the chilling tale at a Christmas market taking place in the very village where Adrien once lived and Nefas still hunts. Sitting nearby is Fae, the woman who survived Nefas 28 years earlier and who swore to never come back. This is the first time she's hearing this story about Adrien and it's one hell of a welcome back to a place she didn't want to be; one hell of a reminder that Nefas is somewhere nearby, waiting for Christmas Eve to open up his reunion with her.
This is your chance: what's the perfect crime you'd love to get away with? Readers, you've read all the plot lines, writers, you've plotted it all out eight different ways. No guilt, no consequences, what crime would you commit?
